Mystic Pipes and Drums was founded in 2019 by pipers and drummers from southeastern CT. Performing at parades, festivals, competitions, and private events, we are also a grade five competition band. We welcome new pipers and drummers of all levels and work to expand piping and drumming through our music and community involvement.

Mystic Pipes and Drums welcomes players of all levels and is a community of pipers and drummers dedicated to performing, competing, and spreading pipe band music. The band is currently led by Pipe Major Baird Welch-Collins, Pipe Sergeant Madeline Kotfer, and Drum Sergeant Andrew Frascarelli. They are supported by our executive board including President Doug Spracklin, John Mauritz, Karen Daly, and Sarah Ormerod. Members of the band play the great highland bagpipe, snare drum, tenor drum, and bass drum. The uniform of Mystic Pipes and Drums reflects the traditional dress of a civilian pipe band.
