Rosie O’Grady’s Highlanders
Apopka, Florida, United States
About the band
Rosie O’Grady’s Highlanders has performed traditional bagpipe music in Central Florida since 1974. The band appears at events and charitable functions and welcomes inquiries about joining or hiring the band.
History
The band began in 1974 as Central Florida Pipes and Drums. When Bob Snow opened the Church Street Station entertainment complex in 1980, he offered to sponsor the band and asked it to adopt a name that matched the venue’s theme.
The band took its name from Rosie O’Grady’s, the first showplace to open at Church Street Station. As employees of the complex, its members regularly performed on Saturday evenings and at special functions.
Practice and contact
The band practices at 72 E Main Street, Apopka, FL 32703. Contact the band for practice arrangements, membership, or performance bookings.
