Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Pipe Band has been part of the musical community in Fredericton, New Brunswick, since 1927. The band performs at festivals, parades, and community events.

Founded in 1927 with three pipers and three drummers, the Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Pipe Band has long been part of the musical life of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Its original members supplied their own instruments, and its first bass drum came from a former brass band.

The band has worn the Gordon tartan since its beginnings. Early uniforms included borrowed military clothing and surplus kilts. It performed at local parades, concerts and Society gatherings before entering competition in the mid-1960s. Since 1969, it has maintained at least one competitive band.
