St. Andrew Society Pipes & Drums
São Paulo, Brazil
St. Andrew Society Pipes & Drums (SASPD) is an independently governed pipe band founded in March 2009 in São Paulo, Brazil.
St. Andrew Society Pipes & Drums, usually known as SASPD, was founded in March 2009 by friends who wanted to perform Scottish and martial music in a spirit of enjoyment, openness and friendship.
Based in São Paulo, Brazil, the band has its own statutes and directors. It is not directly affiliated with the St. Andrew Society, although it regularly performs at the Society’s events.
Its pipers, drummers and dancers include members who have participated in championships in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, and in the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland. The Society’s band page identifies Colin Pritchard as Drum Major.
