Tartan Day South returns April 1–4, 2027, celebrating Celtic heritage across Cayce, West Columbia and Lexington in South Carolina’s Midlands.
Saturday’s main gathering
The main Highland Games and Celtic festival takes place on Saturday, April 3, at Historic Columbia Speedway, 2001 Charleston Highway, Cayce, SC 29033. Other free and paid events are held in nearby communities during the four-day festival.
Athletics, music and culture
Festival activities include Highland athletics, Celtic concerts, massed pipe bands, traditional dancing, sheepdog demonstrations and a Celtic marketplace. The programme also highlights British cars, birds of prey and swordplay.
Tartan Day South benefits the nonprofit River Alliance, supporting connections to and protection of the Broad, Saluda and Congaree rivers.
